I am interested in gathering some stories based around birds in myths or legends - particularly stories from Africa or South America - can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?

Don't have any stories of birds from those regions but have one from Australia that involves the Rainbow serpent and lorikeets(rainbow parrots).Bit of a story but very good. Native aboriginal creation story.

There are other myths about pheonix's and huge elephant birds, but they are from other countries.
